Power Opens Chicagoland’s First New Indoor Mall in 20 Years

235,000 people are estimated to have shopped at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago during the first few days, breaking all records, according to Northwestern suburbs media group Journal & Topics Newspapers. After 15 months of construction, Power completed construction of the new 728,000 sf, 2-story mall, featuring 158 retail stores and expansive food court, attached to a new 2,800-car “smart” parking garage. Jeff Geier, Vice President of Power and Project Executive, “It’s fantastic to see the community enthusiasm for this exciting addition to Rosemont. I am proud of our collaboration with the Village of Rosemont, Macerich, AWE Talisman, and the many consultants and contractors involved on this $150 million project.” In addition to the size and scope, the project features several Chicagoland construction “firsts”, including 500’ of LED exterior signage requiring FAA approval, and a $3 million parking guidance system.
