POSITION SUMMARY:

Power Construction seeks a highly motivated HR generalist to assist and support our growing Human Resources team. Responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of Human Resources services including: day-to-day management of benefit functions, onboarding, policy creation & distribution, HRIS data entry and reporting. The ideal candidate will be well organized, detailed and passionate for Human Resources.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist employees with benefit questions, life events and respond to inquiries timely
• Administer and coordinate various leave policies (FMLA, Short Term Disability, etc.)
• Manage benefit functions, procedures and regular interaction with providers
• Schedule and coordinate 401K audit & annual 5500 filing
• Responsible for assisting with data entry into HRIS system and other benefit provider websites, systems, etc.
• Conduct monthly HRIS audits regarding employee information & verify compliance
• Coordinate and manage new hire orientation, communication, and all additional onboarding responsibilities
• Interface with payroll and help complete semi-monthly HR checklist
• Work with Human Resource team to coordinate new & intern onboarding program
• Maintain and update HR policies and job descriptions
• Run and distribute various reports
• Manage union recruiting and outreach partnership in conjunction with General Labor Foreman & Diversity and Inclusion Manager
• Coordinate and assist with company sponsored functions
• Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion
• Future potential to provide direction to team members, including constructive criticism and positive feedback to support personal development and ongoing improvement
• Perform other job-related duties and projects as necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business-related degree
• 2-5 years' experience in the Human Resource field
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task and pay close attention to details
• Must be proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Management experience in a team-oriented workplace preferred
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
