ABOUT POWER:
Power Construction is Chicago's top General Contractor according to Crain's Chicago. But beyond that, you can find us competing in beach volleyball or softball in Grant Park, brewing beer, attending neighborhood festivals, giving back to the community, and spending time together during a range of company-sponsored events. Our culture is one of the reasons we’ve been selected by our employees as a Top Workplace in Chicago year after year. We are builders. We crave being in the field and share an appetite for innovation. We believe that bringing diverse perspectives together helps foster stronger outcomes. We are driven to wow our clients and business partners, improve our processes, hire the right people, and help them grow.
RECRUITING WITH POWER:
The number one challenge for every company? Hiring the right people. However, for us, recruitment is ultimately about finding the best fit for both parties – not just hiring bodies.
Our people drive our success and enhance our culture. Recruiters find those people. We are looking for someone passionate about not only working in the business of construction, but on the business of Power. Our Career Services Specialist will collaborate proactively within our career services team to help coordinate Power's college and professional recruiting programs. Think you'd be a great ambassador for Power Construction? We would love to talk with you!

THIS ROLE MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF:
• You love it when things get busy. Our recruiters are constantly interacting with a large number of people both face to face, virtually, and over the phone. Confidence and approachability are key.
• You want to make an impact. You have the desire to make a difference in both the organization and in the lives of people.
• You connect naturally. You immerse yourself in social situations with ease and instantly connect with others.
• You're driven to build a diverse team and can interact positively with different types and generations of people.
• You have a proven track record of exceptional follow-up. Regular communication with candidates and hiring managers is critical.
• You're patient but driven to succeed. In an industry where the best candidates are often passive candidates, it takes time to develop a relationship and help a strong candidate see the opportunity.

• You enjoy picking up the phone and building connections. You're a self-starter and a problem solver with ability to see the bigger picture.

YOU'RE GOOD AT:
• Talent Sourcing: Building pipelines and keeping in touch with past candidates. Engaging passive candidates.
• Reviewing Resumes: Searching online applicants, posting new positions, dispositioning old, and managing the flow of candidates.
• Phone Screens: Cold-calling entry-level positions with growth into screens of more advanced roles.
• Interview Set-up: Assisting with collegiate and working professional interviews and coordinating site visits to main office and job sites.
• Organization: Managing cloud-based storage structure through resume tracking, uploading, combining documents, etc.
• Constantly Adjusting Priorities: Switching from task to task at a moment's notice.
• Proactive Coordination: Setting up and periodically traveling for on-campus recruiting events: Career Fairs, Company Information Sessions, Classroom Presentations (includes preparing marketing materials, banners, signage, handouts, presentations, etc.) and coordinating intern events/housing.
• Diversity in Thought & Action: Expanding diversity and inclusion focus through scholarships and outreach programs.
• Paving a New Road: Providing new ideas to enhance Power's recruiting process and share "lessons learned" across recruiting teams through periodic training initiatives.
• Writing skills are a must. Additional marketing savvy is a bonus.
