It was a beautiful day to kick off our employee summer outings! We held our Annual Golf Outing at the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club with a turnout of over 100 employees. We hit the greens for a round of golf while also enjoying a range of activities such as chip shot, disc golf, and a host of other fun at department-sponsored holes.
This year, over 65 Power employees participated in the 2024 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge, the largest corporate running event in Chicago. This year's event supports Hope Chicago, a multigenerational economic mobility initiative aimed at improving Chicago's future through debt-free completion of higher education on a large scale.
Power's Women in Construction group hosted a dynamic panel featuring accomplished women from the construction and engineering sectors to explore topics like mentorship, sponsorship, and advocacy. The event fostered open discussions, with each panelist sharing her personal journey, offering unique insights into the challenges and rewards of navigating traditionally male-dominated fields.
Our Women in Construction volunteers spent a beautiful day in West Pullman drilling and installing drywall at the 2023 Habitat for Humanity Chicago Women Build event. Our team started the day measuring and scoring drywall boards, moving to the scaffolds to begin installation for the remainder of the day.
Thank you to our Power With Purpose volunteers who dedicated the day to sort and package food donations at the Chicago Food Depository, an organization committed to combat food insecurity.
