Where bold ideas meet fearless builders

Power is where people bring what’s most complex—because this is where it gets solved. For more than 100 years, rooted in Chicago and building across the country, we’ve taken on ambitious projects, intricate sites, and ideas that demand dynamic thinking. Our teams thrive in environments where the work is sophisticated, the expectations are high, and the opportunity to create meaningful impact is real.

People come to Power to stretch their skills, grow their careers, and be part of a culture built on curiosity, collaboration, and trust. Here, technical depth meets human connection, and complexity becomes momentum—fueling the buildings we deliver and the people who deliver them.

No matter the project, our mindset stays the same: embrace the opportunity, exceed the expectation.

Project Engineer Jeopardy Challenge 2026

Another January, another PE Challenge! This year’s event featured a Jeopardy‑style competition where each group worked through real-world scenarios they may encounter in the field. The challenge covered everything from AutoDesk processes, BlueBeam, RFIs, Submittals, and other aspects of the PE role. The event wrapped up with a happy hour at Bottom Lounge, giving everyone a chance to unwind and connect after the challenge.

HUB Chauncey Progress Update

The Hub Chauncey team continues to make strong progress following the project’s topping out earlier this year. Ongoing work includes TPO and HFA roofing, exterior façade brick and EIFS installation, topping out exterior framing and window installation, elevator installation, continued interior finish work. In the weeks ahead, work will focus on pool and spa installation, rooftop amenities, and sitework.

Fatback + The Green Butcher

Power’s Workplace Group transformed two former white‑box retail suites into the 6,100 sf Fatback + The Green Butcher—a premium butcher shop, sandwich shop, specialty grocer and catering operation built to serve both building tenants and the general public. Working within an active downtown office building, construction was carefully coordinated to minimize disruption to the main lobby and adjacent elevator banks.

Northwestern University's Ann M. Drake Executive Center Update

Steady progress continues at Northwestern University’s 239,000 sf Ann M. Drake Executive Center. Our team remained focused on critical exterior scopes while advancing interior work less impacted by winter weather. The Executive Center will be the dedicated home for its Executive MBA and Executive Education programs, blending cutting-edge learning environments with guest accommodations.

Power with Purpose: Rebuild Together Metro Chicago

Our volunteers partnered with Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago in the Austin community to support a longtime resident, taking on a variety of home improvement projects from painting and repairs to cleaning and refreshing both the interior and exterior. We’re proud to have partnered with Rebuild Together for eight years, joining forces once again to make a positive impact in the community and provide much-needed home repairs for a deserving resident.
