Designed to simulate a real hospital environment, this 4-story academic building, with a lower level and penthouse, features mock exam rooms and emergency bays. Nursing skills training is supplemented by a variety of technologically-enhanced classrooms, supported by a research center, office space and student lounge.
The enclosure features:
- Curtainwall with external shades to regulate daylight on the south elevation
- A precast core wall with an adjustable mechanical system to dissipate summer heat on the west elevation
- Clear glass to maximize transparency on the north elevation.
The Nursing School was built on the medical center campus, and connected to the Stritch School of Medicine, also constructed by Power.
Quality Focus
Our team dedicated a full-time QC engineer at the precast plant to ensure quality of radiant tubing within the precast planks that created the structure for the building.
