Located at the corner of Elston and Webster Avenue, the Triangle Square development is transforming a wedge-shaped lot into a 387,000 sf, seven-story residential complex featuring 298 units, five retail spaces, and an amenity deck with a club room, fitness center, and outdoor swimming pool. This mixed-use project brings new residential and commercial energy to one of Chicago’s most dynamic neighborhoods.

One of the Largest Cold Form Metal Framing in Chicago

As one of the largest cold form metal framing (CFMF) installations in Chicago, the structure is engineered for both efficiency and durability. The CFMF superstructure sits atop a concrete podium and rises to seven floors for this 386,000 sf multi-family building—a cost-effective alternative to traditional concrete construction.

Throughout construction, Power’s project team collaborated closely with BIM specialists and trade partners to coordinate complex MEP routing through the dense metal framing. Because routing through the fixed CFMF studs can be costly, the team leveraged virtual coordination meetings to plan optimal piping paths and resolve challenges digitally before construction began. This proactive approach minimized field issues, improved schedule reliability, and maximized installation efficiency.
