This 20,000 sf, state-of-the-art GI clinic and outpatient facility at Central DuPage Hospital included full demolition and remodel of a previous tenant space - including replacement of more of the space's MEP systems. Our team's scope of work included four clinic exam rooms, nine prep/recovery rooms, two procedure rooms, and three shelled spaces for future procedures. Both procedure rooms received modular ceilings, requiring precision coordination among all parties for installation. Due to the low deck height and new ceiling requirements, our VDC team developed a comprehensive BIM model to guide system integration and resolve space constraints.
Self-Perform Carpentry
Leveraging our in-house carpentry department allowed for precise, real-time layout adjustments and early problem solving throughout the renovation. By involving our carpentry team after schematic design, we visualized room placements and resolved structural conflicts on-site, such as rerouting plumbing to avoid columns and rebar, which reduced change orders and compressed the project schedule, while also working hand in hand with the architect to provide updated, actual onsite dimensions of columns and existing spaces when as-built information was inaccurate. Their expertise ensured constructability and supported ongoing design changes, delivering seamless coordination and tangible cost savings.
