O'Hare International Airport

As part of the Fuel System Improvement Program at O'Hare, our Aviation Group coordinated the construction of a truck rack facility to fuel airplane fueling vehicles on the West Side of the airport. Two identical 24"/10" Jet A fuel lines from an existing fuel manifold were extended and connected to jet fuel filling islands.

To provide gasoline and diesel to the truck filling islands, two underground tanks and associated piping were installed. Underground utility work was coordinated for storm, sanitation, water, and electrical infrastructure.

A 2-story precast building was constructed to allow Chicago Department of Aviation employees to monitor each vehicle at the fueling islands. The building includes an office, MEP equipment room, two maintenance bays for vehicle repair, and an emergency shutoff valve to fuel tanks.
