Following a Community Health Needs Assessment, Advocate Aurora Health identified the need for expanded behavioral health services in the South Suburban community, including inpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization, and substance abuse treatment. Phase one includes a 25,000 sf renovation at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, with full removal and replacement of all MEP/FP systems, new plumbing risers, and the addition of team support areas, patient social spaces, therapy rooms, 26 behavioral health patient rooms, four med/surg inpatient rooms, and ECT prep and recovery rooms. Because the work took place in an active hospital, the project required close coordination to avoid outages and disruptions during MEP/FP replacement.
Delivered under a full Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) contract, Power was selected based on its longstanding relationship with Advocate, accelerated project schedule, and proven IPD performance.
