Located in Chicago’s Goose Island neighborhood, 1440 North Dayton now houses the Adolescent Medical Center for Lurie Children’s Hospital, offering primary care, behavioral health services, development care, and community training for patients up to age 25. Previously a four‑story office building dating to 1924, the facility was renovated while preserving key historic elements, including sealed concrete floors, brick columns, and exposed ceilings. Open loft areas were converted into offices, conference rooms, and exam rooms. The fourth floor includes an exterior patio and catwalk balcony with skyline views. During the six‑month preconstruction phase, our team coordinated with CBRE, Lurie Children’s Hospital, KHS, and Grumman Butkus. When the existing elevator shaft proved too small for equipment delivery, the team implemented a hoist system to move materials through a second‑floor window, ensuring efficient installation. |
