This 26,000 sf ambulatory center features five clinical exam rooms, labs, doctors' offices, and a large nurse station to accommodate for patients and preparatory procedures. The Surgical center itself is equipped with four operating rooms, which are perfectly square in structure, ensuring that medical equipment is placed in the same exact spot in all four of the operating rooms. This provides doctors with an optimal and efficient space, as each operating room will have precisely the same amount of spacing between the operating bed and the medical equipment. Each operating room is protected by a zero access corridor, preventing anyone other than doctors, nurses, and their patients to enter. In accordance with infection control, this facility features sealed light protection, wall protection, air handling units with UV light to purify the air, negative air pressure monitors, and a sterile processing facility, where medical equipment undergoes complete sterilization and can be re-processed and sent out to other medical facilities.
The center has 15 recovery rooms with sliding glass doors, privacy blinds, and touchdown areas for doctors and nurses to use as needed. Along with clinical and surgical space, the facility also features an MRI Unit, which required strategic coordination between our project team and LCH, as the MRI Unit was brought into the through the storefront window of the building. In order to accommodate for the MRI Unit, our project team built around it, essentially making the MRI unit a facility within a facility.
