Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital Parking Garage

This 340,000 sf, four-story cast-in-place parking garage provides 790 parking spaces and replaces the hospital’s former surface lot. The structure also incorporates 23,800 sf of retail and daycare space, along with a steel-and-concrete pedestrian bridge spanning Winfield Road that connects directly to the hospital.

A key construction challenge involved operating a long-reach crane adjacent to an active helipad. The team maintained constant communication with hospital staff, temporarily stopping work and rotating the crane away whenever helicopter landings were scheduled to ensure safety and uninterrupted medical operations.
