Hyatt Centric Rosemont Renovation is located just minutes from Chicago O’Hare International Airport, transforming multiple areas of this eight-story, 124,000 sf hotel—originally constructed by Power in 1999 with a reinforced concrete structure and precast façade. The project renovates 206 guest rooms, banquet hall, pre-function space, and includes complete lobby and restaurant demolition/rebuild. Exterior upgrades feature a redesigned porte cochere with point-supported glass, new roof, boiler, fire alarm system, building wash/repaint, window recaulking, and Level 1 storefront updates.

Porte Cochere Redesign

The entrance porte cochere features a curved structure with large panels. The team replaced original panels with point-supported glass while reusing the existing steel framing.

Self-Perform Carpentry

Power’s carpentry group handled demolition, drywall, doors/frames/hardware, rough carpentry, custom millwork, and acoustic ceiling tiles across all renovation areas. They created a demolition mock-up beforehand to coordinate with the project team.

Accelerated Three-Month Schedule

With the hotel closed for renovations, the client required completion within three months. The team planned a six-day work week with subcontractors who had capacity to meet this tight timeline.
