Steps away from the Downtown Chicago Riverwalk, this 14,000 sf lobby renovation and outdoor terrace addition at 222 N LaSalle transformed an existing commercial office building lobby into a modern, hospitality-inspired tenant amenity. The upgraded lobby featured new furniture, decorative light fixtures, full-height draperies, an enhanced security desk, and a coffee bar to elevate the tenant and visitor experience in this Class A Chicago office building. The scope also included refurbishing existing architectural elements by refinishing all wood surfaces within the lobby and honing all stone to remove the polished finish, creating a more contemporary and timeless aesthetic. Zo Lounge, a private meeting and collaboration space adjacent to the public lobby, was expanded with a full outdoor terrace incorporating a NanaWall system, outdoor fireplace, and new stone paver system to provide flexible indoor-outdoor workspace and event space.
In-House Services
Our in-house services played a critical role in the success of this project. The project team engaged our VDC, Safety, and Quality teams early for comprehensive review and collaboration. Prior to project award, our VDC team developed a 4D schedule to help the client visualize phasing, sequencing, and tenant impacts throughout construction. Our Safety team developed a detailed public safety and access plan to maintain operations and protect building occupants during active construction. Additionally, our Quality team reviewed exterior terrace conditions and interfaces to ensure the newly installed storefront and terrace systems performed as intended and avoided future water infiltration or envelope issues.
