Constructed on a double lot in Elmhurst, this new 12,800 sf single‑family home features four bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and a three‑car garage. The interior includes a range of high‑end finishes, highlighted by a two‑story library with a stained‑glass laylight and skylight, a 1,200‑bottle wine room, a dedicated movie theater, a golf simulator, a sauna, and a glass conservatory located off the kitchen.

Schedule Saver

Our team used a panelized rough framing package for exterior and interior wood framed walls by Edon Construction, cutting the rough framing schedule down significantly. Additionally, the use of an insulated sheathing panel that bridges the cold gap typically created with wall studs in exterior wall assembly allowed for a reduced amount of spray foam in the exterior walls.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

In order to salvage and recycle materials, the existing home on one of the lots was deconstructed piece by piece rather than demolished.

Utilizing In-House Services
  • VDC consolidated all MEP/FP systems into a fully coordinated BIM model, integrating architectural and structural drawings to identify conflicts and resolve clashes prior to installation. This early coordination helped prevent field issues and supported a more efficient construction process.
  • Our Quality team conducted a comprehensive review of the exterior wall and roof assembly drawings, recommending improvements to the water management strategy and enhancements to the building envelope, particularly important for a full brick façade combined with a slate mansard and flat roof system.
  • The Safety team has been actively involved throughout the project, managing site logistics, overseeing work on the steep slate roof, and implementing safe work practices to support field crews and maintain compliance with required safety standards.
