As the design-build partner for Joliet Cold Storage’s first freezer distribution warehouse, we led every phase of the project—from site acquisition and engineering through development and construction management—for this 845,000 sf facility. Completed in three phases over seven years, the final expansion established it as the largest cold storage facility in the Midwest, positioning Joliet Cold Storage as a key regional cold chain provider.
The state-of-the-art warehouse features advanced blast freezing capabilities, a highly efficient low-charge ammonia refrigeration system, and dual 1,500 kW diesel emergency generators to ensure uninterrupted, 24/7 operations. We identified and secured a prime site with direct access to Interstate 80, aligning with Joliet Cold Storage’s growth objectives, streamlining logistics, and supporting future expansion.
