POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Sr. Business Consultant I, you use your expertise to help our clients create positive experiences through better systems and processes. Your primary focus is on leading and supporting clients and project teams through business process optimization and ERP implementation engagements. This includes requirements gathering, root cause analysis, and ensuring your project team members develop and implement solutions aligned with those requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Discovery
• Lead discovery sessions with clients, actively listening and asking thoughtful questions to clarify and prioritize their business goals and objectives.
• Actively listen for root causes of primary challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with clients to align project objectives with discovered goals, objectives, and root causes or primary challenges.
2. Assessing & Improving Business Processes
• Conduct comprehensive business process assessments with project teammates, or solo for smaller engagements.
• Identify areas where our clients can enhance efficiencies, achieve cost savings, and improve overall effectiveness.
• Offer guidance and practical recommendations to optimize and streamline their business processes in ways that align with their business / strategic objectives.
3. Optimizing Construction ERP Systems
• Leverage your ERP system expertise and business process knowledge to optimize clients’ system usage.
• Provide guidance on system configurations, data management, and/or integration with other tools.
• Ensure the ERP system aligns with clients’ business requirements and helps them achieve operational efficiencies.
4. Teaching & Training Super-Users
• Teach and train clients’ super-users on effective utilization of their ERP system.
• Facilitate workshops that share best practices and introduce super-users to their system configuration, limitations, and troubleshooting methods.
• Empower super-users to maximize system functionality and manage system updates.
5. Project Management & Controls
• Create project plans, schedule tasks, and assign resources using designated systems.
• Manage meetings, including preparing meeting agendas and status updates.
• Document and manage issues, ensuring open issues are resolved proactively.
• Track project maintenance, including budget vs. actual, at-risk tasks, resource constraints, backlog, and project closeout activities.
• Manage project scopes, ensuring project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
• Follow Palmer’s project controls and monitor project risks to mitigate potential issues.
6. SOW Drafting
• Prepare hours and cost estimates to complete the work and prepare deliverables.
• Translate discovery information, client needs, and Palmer’s tailored approach into Statements of Work (SOWs) that detail client commitments, Palmer deliverables, timeline, and necessary resources.
7. Supervisory Responsibilities
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Review and approve weekly timesheets, guiding employees when timesheet corrections are needed before approval.
• Review and approve employee expense reports, guiding employees when expense report corrections are needed before approval.
• Provide guidance on annual development plans and review and approve training & development requests.
• Provide guidance in establishing annual goals in alignment with company and/or practice area goals and with employees’ career goals.
• Manage employee performance including providing ongoing constructive feedback and conducting mid-year and year-end reviews.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience implementing, supporting, and optimizing construction ERP systems.
• Business process assessment and improvement experience
• Effective supervisory and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel up to 30%
COMPENSATION DETAILS:
Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000
