Following the successful design and construction of Karis Cold Storage’s 278,000 sf facility in Rock Hill, SC, our team transformed a portion of that space into Hissho Sushi’s new 81,970 sf corporate headquarters and warehouse. As Hissho outgrew its previous facility, this relocation provided a modern, efficient environment tailored to its evolving needs.

The headquarters features open workspaces, private offices, conference rooms, a wellness room, and a dedicated training kitchen where franchisees master the art of sushi-making. An R&D kitchen fosters culinary innovation, while a tasting room provides a space for product development and refinement. Former dock and freezer areas have been repurposed into office and kitchen space, optimizing the facility for Hissho’s unique operations.

Virtual Reality–Driven Design Collaboration

Transforming a former cold storage dock into a dynamic corporate hub required careful planning and close client collaboration. Using virtual reality walkthroughs, we partnered with Hissho Sushi to review layouts and finalize finishes in real time, ensuring the workplace reflects their brand, culture, and growth goals. This adaptive reuse project blends functionality and creativity, demonstrating how VR‑driven design can accelerate decisions and bring modern corporate interiors to life.
