Rush Copley Clinical Decision Unit

Designed by Anderson Mikos Architects,  this 21,830 sf, single-story vertical expansion serves as an observation unit to determine whether a patient requires admission or a safe discharge. The Clinical Decision Unit sits atop the existing emergency department and features 20 new inpatient beds, stair tower, and an elevator to efficiently move patients from each department. To bridge the gap between the emergency department and inpatient admission, the CDU optimizes bed space for the emergency department and ensures critical patients have access to the inpatient beds.
