Power was selected to complete the 130,000 sf build-out for Life Time Fitness in the podium of One Chicago Square. This premier athletic resort features indoor and outdoor pools, a high-end spa, cafe, child center, basketball courts, studio classes, and a large gym equipped with personal trainers, free weights, machines, and cardio equipment.
Life Time facilities across the country are spearheaded by their in-house construction and architecture teams. The unique nature of this location prompted Life Time Construction and Life Time Architecture to engage Power’s One Chicago team who facilitated an introduction to our VIP Group. Life Time quickly realized the value in using the base building contractor.
Our team’s ability to maximize trade partner mobilization on-site, permitting and IDPH expertise and most notably, integration of the One Chicago VDC model will lead to cost and time savings, as well as superior quality. VDC benefits include virtual clash detection and resolution, identification of prefabrication opportunities, routing and access review and an as-built model.
As partners, Life Time and Power Construction worked collaboratively to expedite and release the eight, custom fabricated, foreign sourced pools and spas. This effort allowed for the early delivery of this critical element at the height of COVID-19 and related global supply chain challenges.
