Creating a new Chicago home for a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services, RT Specialty took over 80,000 sf across two floors at 540 W Madison. The project focused on enhancing the space’s existing conditions and adding an internal stair between the two leased levels. Featuring a raised access floor, our team upgraded the electrical and air distribution system that runs throughout the space.
Utility Relocations
Due to the location of the internal stair, our team had to work off-hours to relocate the chilled water line that feeds nine floors in the building. Our team held extensive coordination meetings with building management prior to freezing the line for relocation. All of the work was doing without impact other building tenants and we were able to avoid draining the systems which would have had major impacts on the other tenants.
